Latin America
Joule Latin America is focused on acquiring, developing, and operating alternative energy projects in Latin America.
Reliable electricity supply has long been a struggle throughout Latin America, however in recent years, economic growth in many countries has caused demand to sharply spike.
Since 1990, the Republic of Chile has nearly doubled its per capita income to become the fastest growing economy in Latin America. Chile’s strong economy and lack of domestic sources of hydrocarbons has increased its need to secure stable supplies of energy. Chile’s 16 GW of power capacity is severely strained and authorities estimate that demand will double over the next 12 years. As a result, Chile must look for alternative sources of energy by leveraging its vast hydro, solar, geothermal, biomass, and wind resources.
